Beware my power...
Are you making this common business mistake, and ignoring the most valuable asset in your business? And how to make money out of nothing.
Do you have a favorite super hero?
I mean super hero like Super Man, Spider Man or The Hulk?
When I was growing up, my cousin used to collect comic books.
Every month or so, my dad would take us over to their house, and I would raid my cousin's comic book collection.
My parents wouldn't buy me any comic books (they were did not like "weird" things like fantasy or science fiction).
So, when I got the chance to read comics, I really took that chance.
Out of all the comic books, my favorite superhero was this green guy with a ring that could turn nothing into anything, called Green Lantern.
I remember 2 things about Green Lantern: his oath "Let those who worship evil’s might, beware my power, Green Lantern’s light.", and how I always thought that having something that can turn nothing into anything would be so cool.
Now, I was thinking about Green Lantern today as I started writing this email, because just before this I was reading a book by Richard Johnson, one of my mentors and the creator of the marketing system we use.
Richard was speaking about the most common mistake that most business owners make: most businesses do not value their customer base as an asset.
You see, when you think of assets, you might think of your building, your stock or your vehicle.
But...did you know that one of your most valuable assets is your customer base?
And...if you manage your customer base properly, it is an asset that you can use to turn nothing into money, almost immediately?
You see, if you have a database of current and past customers, people that have bought from you previously...then all it takes to make money is to send them an email, or get your sales staff to phone them and make them an offer.
If you have a nurtured customer base, and your sales are down, instead of having to spend money on additional marketing...you simply start contacting your customer base, ask them what they want...and then sell them that.
Do you want to know how you can optimize and exploit this valuable asset that you already have?
In today's email newsletter, I shared the first question that you need to ask if you want to discover how you can optimize and exploit this valuable resource.
