How to shrink a mountain

Here's something mind-blowing for you...

Today Youtube decided to show me a short clip of Neil deGrasse Tyson (the astrophysicist). What he said blew my mind:

"Do you realize that if you took Earth, with all of it's valley, mountains and hills, and shrunk it down to a couple of inches...it would feel as smooth as a cue ball?"
